ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In one of the biggest games of the regular season, Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball picked up a decisive 81-64 win over NYIT.
With the win, the home standing Redhawks earned the season split against NYIT, who are ranked No. 3 in the latest NCAA Division II regional rankings.
Sophomore guard
Brooke Fields scored a game and career-high 29 points while
Lucy Covley set a new program record by making nine three-pointers. Covley, who scored 27 points, went 9 of 15 from long range, which is also an East Coast Conference single game record.
Fields was a force from all over the court, making 6 of 9 from beyond the arc and was 8 of 16 overall. At the line, she was a reliable 7 of 8.
Senior
Samantha Courtney chipped in 18 points while hauling in eight rebounds and blocking two shots.
Roberts Wesleyan improved to 21-4 overall and 13-4 in ECC action. The team will host LIU Post for Senior Day on Sunday at 2 p.m.
