Women's Basketball Storms Past Dowling

Roberts Wesleyan has now won five of their last six games with a convincing 80-56 win

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball cruised to a resounding 80-56 win at home over Dowling Saturday afternoon, which as a part of Alumni Day.

The Redhawks  were led by Brooke Fields, who tallied 17 points  and six assists.

How It Happened
Roberts Wesleyan led from start to finish as they have now won four straight and five of their last six games.

The Redhawks ran away from Dowling early in the game as they used an impressive 24-3 run that lasted from the end of the first quarter through most of the second quarter before heading into the locker room with a commanding 49-25 lead.

Roberts Wesleyan then went on a 13-3 run in the third quarter before Lucy Covley gave the Redhawks their largest lead of the game when she hit a three-pointer at the 7:36 mark in the fourth, making the score 76-43.

Key Stat
Roberts Wesleyan forced the Golden Lions to turn the ball over 23 times, scoring 23 points off of those miscues.

Inside the Numbers
- As a team, the Redhawks shot well from the field as they ended the game with a perfect 50.0 percent field goal percentage.
- The Redhawks also distributed the ball in the win as Fields picked up six assists while Necedah James added four. Lakiah Huff also came off the bench to make three assists.
- Samantha Courtney added 15 points to go along with seven rebounds while Covley added 16 points after hitting 5 of 6 from long range.

"Field's" Impact
The sophomore has now scored 17 points in the last four games, keeping her scoring average at 16.1 points per game.

Her six assists were just two off her season-high of eight, which came the triple-overtime setback to Dist. Columbia on Dec. 11.
