ROCHESTER, N.Y. –With a resounding 77-46 win over Lancaster Bible in the NCCAA Midwest Region championship, Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball is now headed to the NCCAA National Championship tournament.
The Redhawks earned the region's automatic bid to the eight-team tournament, which is held in Winona Lake, Ind. on the campus of Grace College.
How It HappenedThe Chargers, who were the two-seeds in the regional tournament, shot out to an 18-15 lead through the first 10 minutes as Lancaster Bible's Aubrey Folger scored 10 points to lead the visitors in the first quarter.
Roberts Wesleyan then took control in the second quarter, going on runs of 11-0 and 9-0 as they outscored the Chargers, 22-4 in the quarter to head into the locker room leading 37-22.
In the second half, the Redhawks used a 13-0 run in the third quarter, giving the top-seeds a 53-29 kead with 3:49 remaining in the third.
Key StatRoberts Wesleyan's bench scored 20 points compared to zero points from the Chargers' bench.

- This was the first meeting between the two programs. Lancaster Bible in an NCAA Division III program that compete in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
"Courtney's" ImpactThe senior forward finished the game with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and four steals for the Redhawks. Courtney shot 7 of 15 from the field and was a perfect 3 of 3 at the line.
