Kutztown, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's bowling team competed in the program's first tournament over the weekend at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown University. The team went 2-11 in play, notching the first two wins in the Roberts Wesleyan women's bowling history.

The Redhawks went up against tough competition but came away with the two wins against Wilmington University, winning 691-658 in baker format play on Saturday and then defeated Wilmington again on Sunday in best of seven bracket matches.

"This was the first tournament ever for the team and overall I feel it was a great learning experience for the group," said head coach
Heather D'Errico. "They battled in some close matches and ended up just a little short in some of them so we could have potentially captured a few more wins. Although the result seems disappointing at a glance, I think every team needs to go through those losses to learn how to become mentally tough in this sport. But the future for this first year team is very promising."
Roberts will look to build off the experience this past week as they head to the Molloy Invite on February 25-26.
