Women's Basketball Advances to NCCAA Midwest Championship with Win Over Indiana Wesleyan

Box Score Rochester, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team defeated Indiana Wesleyan University in overtime on Friday night, 75-67 to move on to the National Christian College Athletic Association Midwest Region Championship.
 
The Redhawks outscored the Wildcats 12-4 in the overtime period. Freshman Sara Nady hit a three-pointer with 3:24 remaining in overtime to give Roberts a 68-63 lead. Junior Lucy Covley followed suit and drained a three of her own with 1:08 left to put the Redhawks up six.
 
Nady led the team with 19 points while adding five rebounds and three assists. Covley had 12 points.
 
Indiana Wesleyan held a 63-60 lead with under a minute to go in the fourth quarter, but Nady hit a big three-pointer to tie up the game. The Redhawks had a chance to win the game with the final possession but were unable to get up a quality shot and Covley's shot went wide.
 
Roberts Wesleyan were able to sneak away with the win despite a rough shooting night. The Redhawks went just 1-of-12 (8.33%) from long-range in the first half and shot just 30-percent from the field. The team was able to turn their shooting around in the second half shooting over 40-percent.
 
The Redhawks move on to the NCCAA Midwest Regional Championship game on Saturday against the winner of the Ohio Christian vs Lancaster Bible match.
