ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team got off to a quick start during Friday night's home game against Tiffin University, but it was the visitors that came away with the 15-11 victory.

The Redhawks looked to be in control of the game early on after scoring four straight goals to jump out to a 5-1 lead. But the Dragons were able to close the first half out on a seven goal run to take a 12-7 lead into the break. The run spanned a 12 minute period in which Roberts was only able to get off two shots on offense while Tiffin controlled the majority of play in its offensive end of the field.

In the second half the Redhawks drew within two goals of the lead following two goals from senior
Cassley Jackowski and another from
Maddi Chille. The three goal spurt made the score 12-10 with 22:58 remaining in the game. The Dragons responded with three goals of their own to push the lead to five.
Johannah Price added a goal with four seconds left to finalize the score at 15-11.

Jackowski led the scoring effort for the Redhawks with five goals.
Mackenzie Kidder and
Megan Burnham both added two goals each. Chille and Price each notched one goal.

Tiffin was led by Amanda Flotteron's seven point game off six goals and one assist.

Elizabeth Spada was a key component in the defensive end for Roberts causing three turnovers and coming up with five ground balls. Goalkeeper
Shannon Knapp made 16 saves on the night.

Roberts Wesleyan falls to 5-6 on the season and will host Queens College for an East Coast Conference matchup on Sunday at 12 p.m.
