AURORA, N.Y. – Both the men and women's swimming programs took home the victory as they defeated Cobleskill and host Wells College in a Tri-Meet on Saturday afternoon.
On the men's side of things, the Redhawks came away with a 77-72 win against Wells College and a 72-27 win against SUNY Cobleskill. Some notable performances from the weekend's events include a first place finish from Reyers Bruscoe in the 100-Yard Backstroke in a time of 1:19.83. The Redhawks also finished in first place in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Amelio Ripa, Reyers Bruscoe,
Joshua Moore, and
Mateus Moura finished the relay in a time of 1:47.90.
The women's team finished the weekend of competition with a win of 185-67 against Wells College and a 189-49 victory against 189-49. Notable performances from the women's team include a first place finish in the 200-Yard Medley Relay. The team of
Abigail Bailey,
Sara Gendrue,
Julia Barnwell, and
Paige Siebold finished in a time of 2:06.85. Also,
Abbegael Greene would go on to win the 1,000-Yard Freestyle event in a time of 12:29.06.
Overall, the teams together finished first in 16 of 23 events, over 20 new best times were made, and two school records were broken.
Paige Siebold broke the school record for the 100-Yard backstroke with a new time of 1:08.71 and
Mateus Moura holds the new record for the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:54.87.
Next, the Roberts Wesleyan swim teams will compete at the Cedar Crest Invitational on December 8 and 9 in Allentown, Pennsylvania
