PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's bowling team closed out its season over the weekend at the East Coast Conference Championships hosted at Port Jeff Bowl in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
The Redhawks earned the No. 11 seed following group play where the team went 1-4. Roberts got its lone win against LIU Post with an 832-759 victory in the baker formatted match.
The Redhawks opened up bracket play with a bang, upsetting No. 6 seeded Molloy, 4-2. Roberts then went on to face No. 3 Adelphi but were unable to pull off the upset, losing 4.5-1.5. With the tournament featuring a double elimination format the Redhawks stayed alive by moving on and defeating St. Thomas Aquinas, 4-1, but a loss in the next round to Chestnut Hill ended the Redhawks' run.
Roberts Wesleyan finishes the season with a 21-42 overall record.
