BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team ran its record to 3-0 as it opened East Coast Conference play with a 7-0 win over rival Daemen College.
The Redhawks opened play by sweeping the doubles competition. Seniors
Nthabi Mogopodi and
Andrea Gallardo won 6-1 at first doubles and junior
Salome Darsalia and freshman
Bijisha Shrestha took second doubles by the same score.

Marousia Bosch took straight set victories at second and third singles to clinch the match. Shrestha earned a hard fought victory at fourth singles with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Alliya Foster.
The highlight match of the day was at first singles where Mogopodi defeated Tina Stasiuk at first singles. Stasiuk, Daemen's all-time career win leader took the first set 6-4. Mogopodi rallied to win the second set by the same score, and went on to clinch the match with an 11-9 tiebreaker win.
"We played very efficiently and smart today," said head coach
Tom Linhart. "I was impressed by how we fought through adversity."
The Redhawks return to action this weekend as they travel to the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows for the ITA East Region Championship Tournament.
