Records fall at Men's and Women's Swimming Tri-Meet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's swim team fell in a tri-meet against Utica College 149-52, and Wells College 94-44 Saturday morning. 

Gabe Rivers added another three team records to his name totaling five new records set by the freshman this year. Rivers consistently outpaced the competition throughout the day with the first record falling in the 100 backstroke with a time of 100.82. 

Later, he doubled his distance and his record count for the day as he took down the 200 back record with a time of 2:18.30. To wrap up the meet, he finished ten seconds ahead of the competition in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:28.88 giving him his third record. 

On the women's side the team was one for two in a tri meet against Wells College and Utica College. The Redhawks outscored the The Express 120-113 and fell to Utica College 113-105.

Sara Gendrue led the way for the women's team as she added another record to her name with a 400 IM time of 5:24.29 and placing 1st in three of three events and assisting in a win in the 200 freestyle relay. 

Paige Siebold picked up another two wins for the Redhawks in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.45 and the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:29.38. 

Both teams will be on the road next weekend in Cobleskill, N.Y. as they take on Wells College for the second time. Racing begins at 1:00 p.m.
