COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swim team tallied up for a total of ten first place finishes on Saturday in a Tri-meet against Wells College and SUNY Cobleskill.
It was another record breaking day for Gabe Rivers adding two more to his name. Rivers was able to break through the minute wall in the 100 butterfly for a time of 59.91 good enough for a second place finish and a new team record. Later, the freshman tacked on another second place finish and school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.05.
Mateus Moura brought home three first place finishes for the Redhawks in the 50 backstroke, 100 freestyle, and the 50 butterfly with times of 31.18, 57.65, 31.61m respectively.
On the women's side Sara Gendrue added two more individual first place finishes in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 35.23 five seconds ahead of the competition and the 100 I.M. finishing eight seconds ahead with a time of 1:11.15.
Paige Seibold out touched the competition in the 1000 yard freestyle by one second giving her a time of 12:21.81 and a first place finish and later blew the competition away in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.92.
Next, The Redhawks on the road next for the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational on December 6th and 7th.
