Rivers Swims Past Two School Records at Home Opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's swim team fell to Erie Community College 49-65 Saturday morning. 

Gabe Rivers the freshman freestyler from Lowville, N.Y. was a standout performer for the Redhawks setting two new school records at his first meet. The first record fell with the 200 freestyle and a time of 1:56.74 a total of 22 seconds ahead of the second place finisher from ECC. A few events later, Rivers broke the minute barrier touching the wall at 52.70 in the 100 freestyle earning him a first place finish and the second record of the day. 

On the women's side, last year's top performer, Sara Gendrue, broke the 200 freestyle school record with a time of 2:09.70. 

Both teams are on the road next weekend, November 16th, as they take on Wells College. The meet is set for 1 p.m.
