Men's Soccer Loses 2-0 to Mid America Christian

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer will need some help from other teams in order to advance to the semifinals of the NCCAA Championships after dropping the second game of pool play to No. 1 Mid America Christian, 2-0.

The Redhawks and Evangels played a 0-0 game up until the last 15 minutes of the match when Mid America scored two goals to move the team forward in pool play. The first goal came at the 74:45 mark and then the team added its second goal of the game in the 89th minute to seal the victory.

After giving up the first goal Roberts nearly got one back on a half field attempt by Terrell Spencer. The shot had the Evangel's goalkeeper beat but the shot sailed just wide of net.

With a 1-1 record in pool play the Redhawks only hope is to earn the fourth spot in the semifinals as the top second place team out of the three different pools. In order for that to happen Roberts will need to have the best goal differential. After today's loss the Redhawks have a goal differential of zero. The two top teams in 'Pool B and Pool C' each have a positive goal differential. The Redhawks will be hoping for a large point spread in the final two games.
