Women's Tennis Fall to Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The RWC Women's Tennis team fought hard but could not overcome the firepower of Southern New Hampshire University losing 7-0.

"I know it is cliché, but this match was closer than the score indicates," said head coach Tom Linhart. "We had chances in the singles to get back into the match, but SNHU won the big points and slammed the door on us."

Southern New Hampshire took all three doubles matches and opened the scoring at 1-0.  Marousia Bosch and Laura Freeman came close at 3rd and 5th singles and Junior Salome Darsalia battled hard at 6th singles.  Bosch lost to Alexa Etienne 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, and Freeman lost to Rachel Wagner 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.  Both matches were decided by a few key points.  Darsalia fought Liz Dwyer losing the first set 7-6 (3) and the second set 6-2.

The 10-8 Redhawks complete their road trip to New Hampshire tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match against the Hawks of St. Anselm College.
