BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team fell to LIU Post, 16-6 in the final game of the regular season.
The Redhawks and Pioneers were knotted at 3-3 near the midway point of the first half but then LIU came up with six straight goals to take a 9-3 lead. The Redhawks were never able to overcome the deficit, scoring just three more goals in the remainder of the game.
Senior
Emily Knight had two goals and one assist.
Taylor Nathan also added two goals.
Victoria Greco made 12 saves in net for Roberts in nearly 45 minutes of action.
The Redhawks (11-5, 4-4 ECC) will be the No. 5 seed in the East Coast Conference Championships and will take on No. 4 Molloy on Tuesday, April 30 on the campus of Molloy College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
