ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The first regular season match of the fall season went in favor of the Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team on Sunday afternoon after the Redhawks defeated Brockport 5-2.
Newly named head coach
Charles Farres picked up his first-ever win as a head coach and his first win with Roberts.
The Redhawks grabbed the first point of the match with the 2-1 advantage in doubles play.
Bijisha Shrestha and
Salome Darsalia were winners at No.1 doubles, 6-1 while
Laura Freeman and
Carolyn Graham got the win at second doubles, 6-1.
In singles play Roberts took four out of the six individual matches with Freeman winning in the No. 1 slot followed by Shrestha at No. 2, Darsalia at third singles and Graham at the fourth spot.
Roberts Wesleyan goes to 1-0 on the season and will jump right into East Coast Conference action on Saturday when they host the University of the District of Columbia at noon.
