ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team have now won five straight games after taking down the University of Bridgeport on Friday night, 61-48. The win was also the second East Coast Conference win of the season.
 
Emily Miller led all scorers with 20 points and picked up sixth double-double of the season adding in 15 rebounds on the night. It was Miller's fourth double-double in the last five games. The senior also added a block and three steals in the win over Bridgeport.
 
After gaining the lead late in the first quarter the Redhawks never gave it back up, but a strong third quarter by the Purple Knights brought the team within one point heading into the final quarter of play. But the fourth quarter belonged to Roberts as the team dropped 16 points and only allowed four points from Bridgeport.
 
Multiple turnovers by the Redhawks in the fourth gave Bridgeport the opportunity to get back into the game but the Purple Knights couldn't find the range going just 2-of-17 (11.8%) from the field with 10 missed 3-pointers. Roberts turned the ball over four times in the quarter and had 22 in the game.
 
Taryn Wilson was the other double digit scorer for Roberts with 10 points. The sophomore was one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing nine on the night.
 
Roberts Wesleyan (9-5, 2-2 ECC) will look to make it six straight on Sunday when they host Queens College at 2 p.m.
