ROCHESTER, N.Y. - A 16-5 point run started out the first ten minutes of play paving the way for Roberts women's basketball to lead for all four quarters as they picked up a home win over Mercy College, 71-39.
The Mavericks struggled from the three-point line going 1-for-20 (5.0%) where the Redhawks were able to capitalize from beyond the arc going 8-for-19 (42.1%). Sara Nady was a key player registering 5-for-9 (55.6%) from long range to help her 20 point total for the game. Nady also added five assists and four steals.Â
Nady was joined by two other Redhawks who scored in double digits. Tashayla Sutorius hit a new career high going 8-for-9 from the field scoring 19 points for Roberts along with four assists and two blocks. Emily Miller rounded out the trio scoring 10 points.Â
Ashlyn McKnight drained a 3-pointer with 30 seconds remaining to give Roberts its largest lead of the game. McKnight, who finished with five points and the rest of the Redhawks' bench played a big part in the offense totaling 24 points on the game.Â
Roberts is back in action this Sunday at 2 p.m. as they take on Saint Thomas Aquinas.
