CEDARVILLE, Ohio - In their first meeting since 2012, Roberts exits the NCCAA Midwest Semifinal against Cedarville University 62-92.
The first period wouldn't go Roberts' way as Cedarville picked up the first six points of the night. An Emily Miller three-pointer would bring the game back to within a point, but they would end the quarter down by nine. In the second period, the Redhawks would rally back, picking up 20 points and get to within six, entering the break 27-33.
In the second half, an impressive Yellow Jackets defensive display would hold Roberts to only 25 shots, of which they only converted 11 (44%). Cedarville would go on an impressive scoring streak to begin the third quarter of play, and the difference of points would never drop below double-digits.
For the Redhawks, Emily Miller was one rebound off a double-double, scoring 16 and picking up nine boards. Taryn Wilson and Sara Nady also had nice showings, Wilson scoring 10 with six rebounds, and Nady with eight points, three boards and leading the team with three assists.
In the NCAA, Emily Miller would end her season 5th in rebounds, 18th in points, and 25th in shooting percentage. Taryn Wilson would hold 3rd place in three-point percentage, with Sara Nady and Tashayla Sutorius finishing 3rd and 15th, respectively, in free throw shooting. The team finished 4th in defense and 24th in offense. The Redhawks will now look to next year, as that loss puts them out of their final competition of the season.
