Redhawks Host Two Home Matches In Final Week Of Regular Season

SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan College men's soccer team's seven-game unbeaten streak came to an end on Saturday afternoon as St. Thomas Aquinas College defeated the short-handed Redhawks 2-1 in an East Coast Conference match.
"It was a tough afternoon, that's for sure," Roberts coach Scott Reber said. "We never quite got into a rhythm."
STAC opened the scoring in the 21st minute and scored the winner in the 51st minute.
Ryan Curtis scored off an assist by Dylan Ruiz in the 25th minute for the Redhawks (6-5-3, 3-2-3 ECC).
"That was a nice response," Reber said.
Junior Jared Gibbons made four saves for Roberts.
The Redhawks will play two home games in the final week of the regular season. Roberts hosts Saint Michael's College in a non-conference tilt at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and takes on the University of the District of Columbia in an ECC match at 3:30 on Saturday.
