ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 23 Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team hosted Gannon on Sunday afternoon for a rescheduled matchup from the previous week and the Redhawks walked away with a commanding 20-4 win.
From the first draw control of the game the Redhawks were dominate, scoring 11 unanswered goals in the first half. Roberts scored 13 first half goals in total taking a 13-1 lead into the halftime break.
In the second half, Gannon found the back of the net three more times but Roberts' seven goals continued to further the gap.
Junior
Alexis Grant led the scoring for Roberts with four goals. Junior transfer
Madison Bell had a game-high eight points with three goals and five assists. Bell also had three groundballs and one caused turnover.
Graduate student,
Jessica Giancursio filled the stat sheet with one goal, one assist, five groundballs, two caused turnovers, and five draw controls.
Roberts Wesleyan is now 2-0 and will host Notre Dame College on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
