June and Rivers Shine and Jamestown Invite

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - On Saturday afternoon, the Roberts Wesleyan Men's and Women's Swim team came away from a tri-meet against Jamestown Community College and Monroe Community College with a win and a tie for first. 

Standout Mya June rattled off two new records for the Redhawks, starting early in the 1000 yard freestyle touching the wall first with a time of 11:40.39. Later, she went on to take another gold with a 56.29 in the 100 yard freestyle.

Rennee Rozler captured first and second place in the 200 freestyle and 200 breaststroke with times of 2:12.52 and 2:47.16, respectively. Rozler assisted with two more second place finishes in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

On the men's side, Gabe Rivers led the way with three individual wins and contributed to the record breaking 200 yard freestyle relay to conclude the meet. Rivers posted times of 27.69 in the 50 yard backstroke, a 58.51 in the 100 yard butterfly, 2:14.08 in the 200 yard backstroke. 

Overall, the Redhawks saw fourteen first place finishes edging out the competition.

Roberts swimming is back in action at home on January 22nd as they take on Oswego State.
