ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's swim team picked up a win against SUNY Fredonia on Saturday afternoon in a tri-meet with SUNY Oswego and Fredonia. Despite team losses for the women's team, two records were broken during the meet.
The men's team defeated Fredonia, 110-83, but fell to Oswego, 163-78. The women's team fell to Fredonia, 105-96 and Oswego, 149-74.
Mya June had two record-breaking performances setting a new program records in the 500-yard freestyle (5:33.27) and the 400-yard freestyle relay. June teamed up with
Brett VanBoden,
Rennee Rozler and
Katelyn Rakiey to post a time of 3:52.26.
Collin Webb won the 100-yard freestyle in 49.75 and
Gabe Rivers won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.47 to be the two top finishers for the Redhawks.
Rozler took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:43.16. She was the lone individual winner for Roberts women's team.
The Redhawks will be back in the pool again on Wednesday for a dual meet with Monroe Community College. The meet starts at 6 p.m.
