ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan swimming teams hosted Genesee Community College and Monroe Community College on Wednesday afternoon in the Voller Athletic Center pool. The women's team picked up wins over both opponents and the men lost to MCC but defeated GCC.
Four new records were set during the meet with three performances on the women's side and one on the men's.
Freshman
Mya June was a part of three record setting performances. The Schenectady, N.Y. native set a new pool record in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.98 for a first place finish. June also won the 400 yard IM in 5:07.42 which broke the pool and program record. In the 200 yard freestyle relay June was joined by
Katelyn Rakiey,
Brett VanBoden and
Rennee Rozler in breaking the pool record (1:49.17) and taking first place.
Gabe Rivers broke his own program record in the 1,000 yard freestyle, finishing first in 11:00.81. Rivers also won the 100 yard backstroke in 59.51.
Roberts will compete again on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Alfred State.
