ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In its toughest dual meet of the season thus far the Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swimming and diving teams stood tall against Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon in the Voller Athletic Center.
Despite taking losses to a strong Dolphins' team, the Redhawks had its best scoring output against Le Moyne. On the women's side, Roberts fell 165.5-103.5 and on the men's side the Redhawks fell 190-78.
"I am beyond impressed with our Redhawks," said head coach Sara Smith. "They went up against a competitive team and closed a significant gap in score compared to years past. They all powered through swimming a variety of events and really raced each one."
Mya June won three events to lead the Redhawks. The sophomore won the 100-yard freestyle while also setting a VAC pool record in 55.14 seconds. June also won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.39 and 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.79.
The other winner in the swimming events for Roberts was Mandy Charleston who took first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:25.10) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.34).
Freshman Emma Dicob won the women's 1 meter diving event, compiling a score of 326.85.
Roberts will be in the pool again on Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. vs Utica University and Wells College. The meet will take place in the VAC pool.
