BUFFALO, N.Y. – Sophomore guard
Georgia Haverlock equaled her career high with 19 points, but it was not enough as the Roberts Wesleyan College women's basketball team dropped a 64-56 decision at D'Youville College on Saturday afternoon.
Roberts (10-8, 7-5 East Coast Conference) took a 46-45 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Saints 8-9, 3-8 ECC) outscored the Redhawks 19-10 in the final period to earn the victory.
"It was just one of those nights," Roberts coach
Kevin Clifford said. "Besides Daemen, I think there is a lot of parity in our league right now and teams are taking turns beating one another. Give credit to D'Youville, they made the plays that they needed to make."
Senior center
Dimitra Gkizani produced another double-double for Roberts with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Haverlock has scored in double figures in four straight games.
Sophomore guard
Danielle DiCintio connected on three 3-point shots for nine points while contributing four rebounds and three assists. Senior guard
Taryn Wilson finished with seven points and nine rebounds.
"I really like our team when we have balance and we didn't have that tonight," Clifford said. "We need to get back to work and get ready for Wednesday."
The Redhawks return to action at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a conference game at the College of Staten Island.
