COLCHESTER, Vt. – Six different players tallied a goal on Friday afternoon as the Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Saint Michael's, 18-1.
The temperature in Vermont might have been freezing, but it didn't take long for the Redhawks to warm up. Roberts got off to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter which led to an early double digit lead in the second quarter.
"Getting on the board quickly and getting running time allowed us to utilize everybody," said head coach
Kristin Paolini. "We were able to get other players in and allow some of the starters to rest. We could make different connections and get looks for other people. It was huge for our confidence knowing we can play our game and get off to a fast start."
Sophomore midfielder
Sophia Podszebka won eight draw controls to help kick start the offense. Podszebka also came up with three ground balls.
"Draw controls are a huge part of our game," Paolini said. "Sophia has the ability to place the ball wherever we need her to in order to put us in the best position."

Madison Bell led the offense again, combining for 11 goals and 7 assists. Brinkel finished the game with six goals and three assists while Bell had five goals and four assists.
