ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The April snow and wind didn't stop the Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team from improving to 2-0 in the East Coast Conference on Sunday afternoon as the Redhawks defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas, 20-7.
Madison Bell had 10 points on four goals and six assists to lead the scoring for Roberts.
The Redhawks defense was able to put pressure on STAC all afternoon forcing the Spartans into 30 turnovers. Sophomore
Madelyn Robinson continued her strong season on defense causing five turnovers in the game and digging up four ground balls.
Alexis Grant stuffed the stat sheet with four goals, two assists, four ground balls, five caused turnovers and four draw controls.
The Redhawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter. The Spartans answered with three straight goals but that was the closest the game would get as Roberts dominated the remainder of the contest.
STAC was led by Danielle Cajou who scored three goals.
Roberts (6-3, 2-0 ECC) will travel to Molloy College on Saturday for a noon time game.
