Lowe Breaks Program Pentathlon Scoring Mark

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In her first multi-event of the season, junior Hailee Lowe placed third in the pentathlon while setting a new Roberts program record and personal best with 3,172 points at the Youngstown State University Mid-Major Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Lowe set three new PR's during her multi-event schedule in specific events, including the 800-meter (2:32.47), 60-meter hurdles (9.06), and shot put (7.60m).

"The team took advantage of the 300-meter track to continue the momentum from the first few meets," said head track and field coach, Mark McCown. "The multis competed in their first pentathlon and heptathlon of the season, leading to two NCCAA qualifying marks."

Lowe alongside Corden Zimmerman from the men's team both hit the NCCAA qualifying marks for multis.

Acacia Barber put together a strong 3,000m performance with a third place finish, crossing the line in 10:30.93. The time was a 31 second personal record for Barber.

Other top-10 finishers included Jennifer Zambuto in the 5,000m race (19:12.12), Kylee Odell in the mile with a new PR of 5:20.19 and Rachel Horner-Richardson in the 3,000m (10:47.36).

The Redhawks will be back in action again on Sat. Feb. 4 at the Brockport Multi meet.
