SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swim and dive programs began the season on Saturday against Union College and The College at Saint Rose.
The top performance of the day belonged to junior
Mya June in the 200-yard freestyle who won the event by nearly six seconds. June finished in 2:03.95. June also took second place in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:04.28.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Renee Rozler,
Angelina Trapp,
Brett VanBoden, and June took first place in the event with a time of 1:48.90.
Grace McNamara was a second place finisher in the 500-yard free touching the wall in 6:09.46.
Roberts competed well in the diving events with freshman
Sidney Simmons setting new program records in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Simmons scored a total of 222.15 points in the 1-meter and 231.37 in the 3-meter to win both events. Sophomore
Emma Dicob placed second in both events.
In the men's diving events,
William Rugaber took first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 215.77 and second in the 1-meter (224.48).
Roberts will host MCC on Oct. 21 in the Voller Athletic Center at noon.
