COLUMBIA, S.C. – Juniors
Lydia Ware and
Hailee Lowe put together record-setting performances at the National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field National Championships hosted by Columbia International University.
Lowe became the national champion in the 400-meter hurdles while also breaking her own Roberts Wesleyan record with a time of 1:03.67. Lowe beat the mark of 1:03.97 which she set on May 4 during the East Coast Conference Championships. The Alexander, N.Y. native also set the new program record for the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 14.56. Lowe took third place in the event.
Ware is third all-time at Roberts in the 200-meters and 400-meters. The Troy, N.Y. native took first place in the 400m race with a time of 57.60 to earn her first individual national title and third in the 200m, crossing the line in 25.15.
In the men's 400-meter hurdles,
Pedro Moscoso set a new personal best with a time of 58.54 and placing seventh overall.
Roberts closed out the 2023 outdoor season and both teams won ECC Championships at the beginning of May.
