AMHERST, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Bowling team won the final three matches of the day Sunday to capture fifth place as a team at the Storm Fall Classic Tournament held Saturday and Sunday hosted by Daemen University.
The Redhawks (15-21) closed out the tournament with wins against Hilbert, St. Anselm and Lewis University Sunday to lock up the fifth-place position and finished the tournament with a combined scoring average of 180.
Senior Luz Torres led the Redhawks with a pair of 200+ games on each day of the tournament including a high of 227 in Saturday's win over St. Anselm.
The Redhawks were 2-3 Saturday in the traditional matches with victories over St. Anselm and Hilbert. The team had a 10-pin loss to Daemen as well on Saturday.
The team rebounded for three wins out of five matches Sunday with victories over St. Anselm, Lewis and Hilbert.
The team is off for the Holiday Break and will resume competition February 15 at Hilbert.
