ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
Georgia Haverlock scored her 1,000th career point on Saturday against the University of the District of Columbia. The Redhawks came up short in the East Coast Conference matchup, falling 76-63.
Haverlock completed the milestone at the free throw line after being fouled on a 3-pointer. The graduate student needed just five points coming into the game and finished the contest with seven points.
"For me it's a big moment because in high school I barely got over 500 points so to reach a thousand is like a dream come true," Haverlock said. "All glory to God. This is evidence that even if people count you out or something looks like it's not possible, God will always make a way. I am grateful for all the people who have poured into me the last four years whether it was on the court or off the court. They've helped me become a better basketball player and better person overall."
Grace Dow had another double-double effort with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Danielle DiCintio totaled 17 points and four assists as the other double-digit scorer.
Roberts (6-16, 2-12 ECC) will head to D'Youville on Wednesday before returning home on Sat. March 2 for the final game of the season.
