PITTSBURGH, PA – Junior Joane Arzalluz Garzon led the Roberts Wesleyan Triathlon team as the Redhawks traveled to Duquesne University for the annual Duquesne Invitational. The team competed in the NCAA Draft-legal Sprint Distance event.
Garzon placed 47th overall with a time of 1:18:37.31 including a stellar swim segment where she came out of the water in 13th place overall.
Freshman Jenna Maendel was the second Redhawk to cross the line as she placed 53rd overall in 1:21:37.31. Classmate Paige Kern was next for Roberts in 61st position with a combined time of 1:29:50.88.
Roberts will have a weekend off and return to action Sept. 29 at the Robious Landing Triathlon in Richmond, Virginia.
