WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Sophomore Jadyn Mullen placed 9th overall to lead the Roberts Wesleyan Women's Triathlon team at a third place team finish at the season-opening Patriot Sprint Triathlon in Virginia.
The race was a 750-meter swim, a 20K bike and 5K run and Mullen clocked a 1:18:56.1 to finish in 9th place overall in the women's final standings. Mullen clocked a 14:07 in the swim and a 39:51 in the bike segment before finishing with a 21:39 in the 5K run.
Roberts placed third as a team behind Division I Navy and Delaware State.
Freshman Jenna Maendel was the second Redhawk to cross the finish line as she placed 11th in 1:23:24.4 and junior Joane Arzalluz Garzon was less than a minute behind in 12th position with a time of 1:24:14.8.
Freshman Paige Kern rounded out the finishers for Roberts in 17th place with a time of 1:30:13.5.
The Redhawks competed against racers in a predominantly Division I field with competitors from The US Naval Academy, Delaware State, Univ. of Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Roberts will compete Saturday in the Duquesne University Invitational in Pittsburgh.
