ALFRED, NY – Sophomore Antonie Pieterse had another impressive meet as he broke a pair of pool records and cracked the NCAA B-Cut in the 100 Butterfly to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Swimming and Diving team in a midweek dual meet at Alfred University.
The Saxons won the team points race by a score of 196-97.
Pieterse hit the NCAA cut and broke the pool record with his winning time of 48.01 in the 100 Fly and at the end of the meet took down the pool record in the 50 free as he posted a time of 20.59 in the leadoff leg of the 200 Free Relay. The old record was 21.10 set last year.
Two Roberts records also fell as Pieterse set the new mark in the 100 back with a time of 49.71 as he finished second by a mere .06 seconds. Freshman Raphael Weber also broke a school record with his time of 1:57.66 in the 200 back. He was second in the race.
Weber added a second-place finish in the 200 free and sophomore Tanner Pinto-Cohn was second in the 200 IM.
Freshman Joshua Meece was the top finisher in the 200 Fly for Roberts as he clocked a time of 2:09.44.
Roberts will battle LeMoyne Saturday, November 1.
