ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore Antonie Pieterse set three pool records with a trio of wins but more importantly moved into the national rankings in his home country of South Africa with his finishes Saturday afternoon as the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Swimming and Diving team scored a dominating victory over Nazareth University.

Roberts won the team score 214-65 on the strength of 14 event victories.

Pieterse was the star for the Redhawks as he posted three wins and three pool records with wins in the 100 butterfly (52.39) and 100 freestyle (50.70). The sophomore All-American also set the pool record in the 50 freestyle as he led off the 200 freestyle relay with a split time of 22.64. He also won the 50 butterfly with a time of 23.94.

His time in the 100 fly lifted him to the No. 2 position in the national rankings in the event in South Africa. His 50 freestyle time is ranked No. 9 in the nation.

Sophomore Tanner Pinto-Cohn recorded a pair of wins in the distance races with a time of 9:20.59 in the 800 and 4:31.93 in the 400 freestyle races.

Freshman Leu Cabanayan added a pair of wins with his times of 31.05 and 1:09.47 in the 50 and 100 breaststroke events.

Fellow freshman Raphael Weber also won twice with victories in the 200 free (1:59.21) and the 100 IM (1:04.87).

Freshman diver Joel Fesmire also scored a pair of wins as he was first in both the 1-meter (134.85) and the 3-meter (129.05) diving events.

Sophomore Ethan Springle won the 50 backstroke and was a member of both winning relays for the Redhawks.

Roberts will compete next weekend at the North Country Invitational hosted by SUNY Potsdam.
