SINKING SPRINGS, PA – After five matches of round-robin play on the first day of the East Coast Conference (ECC) Tournament, the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Bowling team captured the No. 5 see and will face No. 4 Molloy in the first round of double-elimination bracket play Saturday morning.
Kutztown is the top seed and will face the winner of the St. Anselm vs. St Thomas Aquinas Friday afternoon play-in match and advance to play the winner of the Roberts vs. Molloy match.
In the other half of the bracket, No. 7 Adelphi will play No. 2 D'Youville and No. 6 Daemen will face No. 3 Bryant. The winners will advance to face each other in the tournament semifinal.
In the round-robin qualifying matches, Roberts earned a win over St. Anselm by a score of 891-831 to open play Friday. A pair of losses to Daemen and Kutztown followed before the Redhawks finished the day with a pair of wins over St. Thomas Aquinas (876-629) and D'Youville (923-889).
Following play Friday, the announcement of the All-Conference teams was made as junior
Amelia Ponto was announced as a member of the Second Team and freshman
Kaylee Stephens picked up Third Team honors for Roberts.
