NORTH CANTON, OHIO – Senior Dylan Baker and sophomore Sebastian Guerraro scored goals for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team Saturday as the Redhawks posted a second consecutive shutout victory to start the season with a 2-0 win at Walsh University in Ohio.
Guerraro opened the scoring in the 17th minute as he finished a nice crossing pass from junior Archie Murphy and the Redhawks (2-0-0) led 1-0 at halftime.
In the second stanza, Baker finished a play with an assist from Conlan McCoy to double the lead for Roberts with less than 30 minutes left in the contest.
Walsh (1-1-0) had an 11-8 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks but the Roberts defense was solid all day as senior Eric Jewson finished with seven saves to secure the victory.
The Redhawks return home and will open the home schedule Tuesday with a 2 p.m. game against Assumption University at Roberts Stadium.
