Mustafa Alshadeedi scored his first college goal in the 69
th minute as the Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 win over Assumption in the season opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

Pablo Garcia Alemany started the game-winning play by sending a free kick into the center of the box to an airborne sophomore
Louis Ferrari who flicked the ball to his left and Alshadeedi deposited it into the net to give the Redhawks their first lead of the afternoon.
After Assumption scored in the ninth minute, Roberts junior
Sebastian Guerrero stole the ball from a defender and dribbled in one-on-one with the keeper before sending a left-footed shot into the far corner to tie the game in the 39
th minute.
Senior
Juan Daniel Espinosa Rubio made five saves to earn his first win as a Redhawk.
The game was tight throughout with Roberts holding a 12-11 advantage in shots.
Roberts, the 2025 East Coast Conference champion, travels to Manchester, N.H., on Thursday to play Saint Anselm College.
