LAKEWOOD, NJ – Georgian Court University exploded for four goals in the second half and down the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team by a 5-2 final scored Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference battle in New Jersey.
The Lions (3-1-2) scored the lone goal in the first half in the 39th minute but the goals came in bunches in the second stanza.
Just 1:33 into the second half, Georgian Court took a 2-0 lead but senior Archie Murphy scored less than a minute later to cut the lead in half for Roberts (1-3-2).
Three minutes later, the Lions regained the two-goal lead with a goal in the 51st minute and added goals in the 66th and 75th minutes to take a commanding 5-1 lead.
Junior Davi Moretzsohn scored with just over two minutes remaining in the contest for the final score. The junior finished with a goal and an assist in the contest.
Roberts begins East Coast Conference (ECC) play Saturday on the road at Queens College in the morning game of a men's and women's doubleheader.
