2014 (sophomore): Valento broke through in her junior season, opening at the Harry F. Invitational running 19:24.9… At the Greater Louisville Classic, her time improved to 19:01.2 before setting a personal record at the NCCAA Championships (18:29.4) which placed her 8th overall, good enough for the title of NCCAA All-American… Beginning championship season, the 6k at the NCAA DII East Region Championships brought out a 22:31.3 performance, helping qualify the team for the NCAA National meet where Valento finished 3rd on the team… At nationals, the women placed 9th overall as a team.
2013: Redshirt year. Did not race.
2012 (freshman): Began her collegiate career at SUNY Binghamton… Opened the season finishing 5th on the team in 19:55.8… Finished the season at the America East Championship with a time of 19:24.8 good enough for placing 8th on the team.
High School: 2012 graduate of Pavilion High School… Valento was the 2011 individual New York State champion in cross country class ‘D’… Also was a two time NYSPHSAA Section V Sportsmanship award recipient.
Personal: Born August 9, 1993 to Bernard and Ann Valento... Has an older brother Jonathan (24) and a younger brother Christian (16)... Valento’s favorite hobbies include knitting and skiing, while her favorite movie is P.S. I Love You... Childhood/Students with Disabilities & Special Education major, 2015 team captain.
