Biography
Sarah Child begins her third season as a Lady Raider in 2010 – 2011. She will serve as one of the team’s captains this season.
2009-2010 – Honored as a Second Team All – East Region player by the NCCAA, Child averaged 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds including a career high 23 points against Notre Dame. She led the team in blocks with 51 and shot 43% from the field. Child was also an All-Tournament Team selection in the Max Ziel Tournament.
2008-2009 –Sarah was a welcome addition to the Lady Raiders. Starting nine games, she averaged 6.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. She scored in double figures four times (13 and 11 against Daemen, 13 against Ohio Dominican, and 19 against Malone), and contributed 12 blocks.
High School - Sarah came to Roberts from Schenectady Christian School in Scotia, NY. She left SCS as the school’s All – Time leading scorer with 1,864 points, ranking 13th in Section II history. Sarah is a two – time Western Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player. She was a fifth team All – State selection in 2008. Sarah was Section II Class C MVP in 2006, when she helped Schenectady Christian to a Sectional title. Sarah was Valedictorian of her class and Scholar Athlete of the Year in the WAC.
Personal - Sarah majors in Communications. She is the daughter of Don and Debbie Child and she has three brothers, Aaron, Wesley, and Nathan. Sarah enjoys dancing, writing, and spending time with friends. Sarah writes for the school newspaper and belongs to the Dance Ministry.
