Scott Reber

Scott Reber enters his 11th season as head coach for the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks in 2025.

Reber was named the 11th head coach in program history on Dec. 15, 2014 and has established a program where players have achieved success on the field, in the classroom and in the community. 

Roberts went 9-7-3 in 2024, earning the third seed and the right to host a home game in the first round of the East Coast Conference postseason tournament. Roberts also traveled to the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I National Championship in Kissimmee, Fla., for the third straight season.

In January, Reber received the 2024 Frank Jewell Award from the NCCAA.  The award is presented annually to a soccer coach who has displayed Christian character and integrity within the NCCAA. The award is presented by the National Intercollegiate Soccer Official's Association (NISOA) in memory of Frank Jewell, NISOA liaison with the NCCAA from 1983-2010. The award winner is selected by the NCCAA Executive Director and a representative from NISOA.
 
Reber guided the Redhawks to another East Coast Conference tournament in 2023 making it to the quarterfinals where they lost during a tough road game Roberts then won its NCCAA Midwest Regional game, defeating Redeemer University 4-1, to send the Redhawks to the NCCAA Division I National Tournament.  Roberts won its pool and made it to the semifinal game where it lost to Campbellsville.

The 2022 season also came to a close at the NCCAA National Tournament. The Redhawks advanced to the finals, taking second place for the third time in program history.  The Redhawks ended their campaign with an 11 win season and ranked No. 5 in the nation by the NCCAA. 

Reber has coached many players who have been recognized both in the classroom and on the field.  During his tenure, all but one team has been awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award which recognizes teams that maintain a team GPA of 3.0 or higher and he has coached multiple NCCAA Scholar Athlete Awards.  On the field, Reber’s players have been awarded ECC Player of the Week, ECC Rookie of the Year, ECC All-Conference players, NCCAA Regional players, NCCAA Regional player of the Year, and NCCAA and NCAA All-Americans.
 
A 1986 graduate of Roberts, Reber played for Roberts Wesleyan and was a member of the 1985 East Region Division 1 NCCAA Championship team that qualified for and competed in the NCCAA National Soccer Championship – a first for Roberts.  He won many honors as a player and was named to the NAIA District All-Star Team. He was awarded the Midwest Regional Coach of the Year last season.
 
Prior to being named head coach, Reber was an assistant, twice, taking a break in between while his children attended college. During those years as an assistant, RWU was ranked in the NAIA Top 25, NCCAA Top 10 and went to the NCCAA National Tournament four times (taking second place in the 2002), made an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, and won the American Mideast Conference (AMC) Tournament title in 2011.
 
Reber brings more than 35 years of coaching experience to the Redhawks and has found success at every level. He also served as President and as Director of Coach and Player Development for a local Soccer Club.  Reber holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the NSCAA National Youth Diploma. 

Scott currently resides in North Chili with his wife, Karen. They have three grown children and three grandchildren.
