John has been an assistant coach, focused on goalie development, since 2019.
In 2021, Knowles coached the only goalie on the roster, junior Natalie Arieno to great success. Playing every minute of the program’s historical run to the NCAA DII Final Four, Natalie received the following accolades: Most Outstanding Player of the 2021 ECC Women’s Lacrosse Championship, 2021 ECC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference First Team, MVP of 2021 NCAA DII East Region, 2021 ECC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
In addition to his goalie responsibilities, John also works on draw technique and mental performance, including mentoring the team Leadership Council. John is actively involved in the local high school and youth communities, sharing his passion for the position in younger keepers, through his company Deny Goalkeeping, LLC. Â
