Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks

Sophomore Austin Melvin set another school record over the weekend and vaulted to the No. 2 spot in the country as he won the competition at the Blue and Orange Invitational in Utica by clearing the 5.36-meter (17’ 7”) bar. He jumped into the competition at 15’ 8 ¼” and cleared four consecutive bars with six attempts to earn first place and then raised the bar to the new record height and cleared the bar on his third attempt. The mark places him second in the country and first by more than a foot in the East Region standings.
