Men's Basketball Fall Short Against Notre Dame College

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (December 9, 2011) – The Men's Basketball team lost 65-62 to the Notre Dame College (Ohio) this evening.

The Raiders failed to maintain a large lead in the second half, which at times were more than ten points.

After nearly four minutes of no scoring, Marquice Taylor made a layup to cut the Raiders lead to 60-57 with 5:47 left in the game.

The Falcons' Brennan Osborn made a shot from under the basket to make it a 60-59 Raider lead with under five minutes to play.

A minute later, Kalomo Figueroa-Jackson made a lay-up to give the visitors a one point lead with 3:21 left.

With 28 seconds left, Alif Bland scored a bucket to make it a 63-62 game.

Osborn was fouled and made his two free throws to give the Falcons a 65-62 lead.

The Raiders had one last chance after William Kemp-Harris was fouled at the top of the key with 1.8 seconds remaining.

On the in-bounds pass, Dominque Williams has a good look in the right corner to tie the game, but failed to stay inbounds. The Falcon's would re-take possession and let the clock expire.

The Raiders managed to score only two points in the final 8:22.

Kemp-Harris led the Raiders with 15 points, going 5 of 11 from the field and 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. Patrick Downer and Bland both scored 14 points.

The Falcon's Phil Boggs led all scorers with 17 points.

The loss drops the Raiders record to 4-8.

The Raiders are off until next weekend when they travel to Erie, Pa. to play in the Mercyhurst Invitational. The Raiders will face Washington Adventist on Saturday night at 6pm.
