NORTH CANTON, Ohio (January 14, 2012) – The Women's Basketball team lost 58-52 this afternoon to the Walsh University Cavaliers in dramatic fashion.
The Raiders were unable to hold a six point lead with less than seven minutes to play in the second half. The Raiders led the game by three points with two minutes remaining.
The Raiders led by as many as eleven on several occasions in the game. The game went back and forth as the score was tied nine times.
The Cavaliers would take the lead for good when Daniella Ciccarone hit a pair of free throws after she was fouled by
Bianca Jones with 1:30 left in the game.
The Raiders were led by
Lindsay Kendall, who scored 16 points after going 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and shot 5 of 12 from the field.
Marissa Bunce chipped in 13 points for the visitiors.
Jones led the Raiders in rebounds, grabbing 12 boards.
Ciccarone led all scorers with 21 points after going 11 for 12 from the charity stripe.
The loss puts the Raiders at 11-7 overall and 1-2 in the American Mideast Conference.
The Raiders are off until Friday when the they host Carlow University at 7pm in the Voller Athletic Center.
