Women's Soccer Hits Road for Big Games This Weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 11, 2012)  - The Women's Soccer team continues their road swing this weekend with games against Queens College and the University of Bridgeport.

SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (9-5-0/3-2-0 ECC)
The Redhawks come into this weekend having split their last two games. Roberts Wesleyan fell 3-0 to Dowling College last Friday before comining up with a 1-0 win over Molloy College two days later.
 
Brittany Kinmond scored the game-winner against the Lions on Sunday and now leads the team with 25 points (9 goals, 7 assists).
 
The Redhawks are averaging exactly 2.00 goals per game while the defense has allowed 1.70 goals against through 14 games this season.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS (7-3-3/2-1-1 ECC)
The Knights sit right above Roberts Wesleyan in the conference standings as both have played six ECC games thus far.
 
Leading Queens on offense is senior midfielder Lorena Russi with 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists).  Fellow senior midfielder Sarah Bouher is right behind Russi with 11 points (5 goals, 1 assists).
 
Goalkeeper Allison Breakey has played every minute for Queens and has posted a solid 1.01 goals against average to along with her 69 saves and .831 save percentage.  As a team, the Knights have scored just 17 goals, but have allowed only 14 goals through 13 games.  
 
SCOUTING BRIDGEPORT (6-4-1/4-1-0 ECC)
After looking losing their first three games and now winning until their fifth games of the season, the Purple Knights have been on a tear. In fact, Bridgeport had put together a six game winning streak before losing their first game in a month this past weekend (3-1 loss to LIU Post).
 
Sophomore Danielle Puddefoot is the teams points leader with 22 (10 goals, 2 assists) this season. The versatile midfielder has four game winning goals for the Purple Knights and has a .542 shots on goal percentage.
 
Bridgeport's goalkeeper, Julia Hanson has made 43 saves with a .694 save percentage while allowing 19 goals through 11 games this season.
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks return home to close out the regular season with games against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday Oct. 20 at 2pm and then a non-conference game against Daemen College the following Saturday at 7pm.
