Women's Soccer Road Woes Continue, Fall to Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (October 14, 2012) – The Women's Soccer team suffered another road loss this afternoon with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights.

Bridgeport scored in the 21st minute when Asia Pulse slotted her shot in the area past Breanna Maggio to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

In the 70th minute, Gabby Reis would score to secure the win for Bridgeport, who sit in second place in the East Coast Conference standings.

Allison Kendall led the Redhawks on offense with two shots on goal as Bridgeport's  'keeper Julia Hansson made three saves in the game. For the Redhawks, Maggio was called upon to make nine saves in the game.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 9-7-0 overall and 3-4 in the ECC.

Roberts Wesleyan is off until this Saturday when they host St. Thomas Aquinas at 2pm.
